Christopher Stai is the leader of HREA’s national healthcare real estate practice. He has over 20 years of real estate experience advising a broad range of clients including healthcare providers, health systems, and developers with a specialization in physician-owned hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, medical office buildings, post-acute care, as well as other types of healthcare facilities throughout the U.S.

Chris has advised on over $5 billion in healthcare real estate transactions involving Sale / Leaseback transactions, Hybrid-Sale Leaseback® transactions, single-asset and portfolio dispositions, developer selection, capital sourcing for new development and expansion, as well as tax-deferred strategies. His clients include many of the nation’s largest users and investors in healthcare, including providers, real estate investment trusts (REITs), institutional investors, and real estate developers.

Prior to forming HREA, a recognized national leading advisor in healthcare real estate, Chris was the managing director of an investment bank leading the company’s national healthcare real estate capital markets platform. Previously, he was a director for a national publicly-traded healthcare REIT, acquiring more than $2 billion in healthcare real estate assets throughout the U.S. His knowledge and expertise is a culmination of experience that includes real estate tax consulting with Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

Chris earned his B.A. in Economics & Accounting from UC Santa Barbara and went on to receive his CPA license.

Chris lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife and their 9-month old twin girls.

Mike Spisak is a Director of HREA’s national healthcare real estate practice group where he specializes in providing real estate advisory and brokerage services to a diverse range of clients, including physician-owned practice groups and ASCs, health systems, institutions, private client/investors, private equity groups, REITs, and developers.

Prior to joining HREA, Mike served as a Vice President in the capital markets division at Colliers San Diego specializing in healthcare/medical, retail, and industrial net leased investment sales across the country where his team led the industry in the sale of dialysis clinics and single-tenant medical assets.  Before joining Colliers, Mike was with Cushman & Wakefield in Michigan where he specialized in investment sales of medical office buildings, as well as tenant representation and agency leasing of office and retail properties.

Mike earned his B.S. in Business Management and Finance from Portland State University and was recognized as a member of the Tau Sigma National Honors Society.

Anthony Naticchioni

Anthony Naticchioni is a Director with HREA’s national healthcare real estate group. He has over 26 years of commercial real estate experience advising Sale / Leaseback transactions totaling approximately $3 billion in total value.  Anthony works closely with healthcare providers, practice groups, and developers in navigating various monetization strategies of single-tenant and multi-tenant medical buildings, as well as portfolio dispositions, site selection, entitlement and development, capital sourcing, and §1031 tax-deferred exchange strategies. Anthony serves HREA’s clients by advising and executing financial and real estate strategies that address both the operational aspects of the practice or surgery center and the real estate.

Prior to HREA, Anthony was the Managing Principal of an Investment Real Estate and Advisory firm.  Previously, he was Managing Director for an investment bank leading the company’s national real estate capital markets platform and the Senior Managing Director of a real estate investment advisory firm in Los Angeles. 

Anthony earned his B.S. Degree in Finance and a minor in Real Estate from California Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of California.

When Anthony is not spending time with family or advising healthcare clients, he is a NCAA and NISOA college soccer referee.

Tim Cajka is a Director with HREA’s national healthcare real estate advisory group. He specializes in providing real estate advisory and brokerage services to a diverse range of clients, including physician-owned practice groups and ASCs, health systems, institutions, private client/investors, private equity groups, REITs, and developers.

Prior to HREA, he has over 30 years combined experience in commercial real estate & healthcare including 10 years at CB Richard Ellis and 20 years in healthcare executive leadership at firms such as GE Financial, Quest and DaVita. He has been responsible for a variety of organizations’ annual P&L’s upwards of $100 million.

Tim, an Ohio native, earned his bachelor’s degree in business at San Diego State University. He also earned his Six Sigma Green belt while at GE Financial.  Tim currently resides in San Diego, with his wife. They enjoy spending time with their 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren, hiking, travel and concerts. Tim is very active in the community and charitable activities including 10+ year Board Member for a non-profit healthcare clinic in San Diego.

Jantzen Gongon is the Marketing Director of HREA where she leads the company’s marketing strategy in providing executive level advisory to owners of healthcare real estate. Her responsibilities include the planning, development and implementation of the overall marketing creative and strategy for HREA, enabling its professionals to better serve their clients.  In joining HREA, Jantzen brings over 17 years of marketing and sales experience in telecommunications, emphasizing digital marketing, as well as web design, development and branding.

Ryan Michaels is a Senior Associate with HREA’s national healthcare real estate team. In this role, Ryan has a hand in all facets of development and investment advisory, including valuation, due diligence, lease review, and transaction management, involving medical office buildings, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals throughout the U.S. In particular, Ryan’s expertise includes fostering new client relationships and providing real estate advisory and brokerage services to a range of clients, including physician-led multi-specialty and single-specialty practice groups, and supporting the HREA team in navigating and simplifying complex transactions that address succession planning and various tax-deferred strategies and outcomes. Ryan joined HREA four years ago after graduating from the University of San Diego with a double major in Real Estate and Business Administration.

Joe Karnes is a senior associate for HREA’s national healthcare real estate investment advisory team. In his role, Joe supports existing engagements and helps source new client opportunities. 

Prior to joining HREA, Joe was a business development associate at Hammes Partners - a nationally renowned healthcare real estate investor, developer, and advisor - primarily supporting acquisition and development activities for the firm’s private equity division. 

Before joining Hammes, Joe worked for a creative consulting firm called Brass Check, during which time he helped plan, research, write, and edit several bestselling nonfiction books and led a series of marketing initiatives for the firm and its clients. 

Joe graduated from UW-Madison in 2019 with a degree in Economics.
